Monday: What makes up the Central Nervous System?
Please take a look at these interactive diagrams on the Central Nervous System. Know the parts that make up the CNS so that you can be prepared for class tomorrow. Learn about the CNS here!
Based upon what you learn in class and on your own by completing the diagrams, write a one page paper, using Microsoft Word, to tell me what tasks the parts of the Central Nervous System might help to complete. Please give me your opinion on whether or not those parts are important to people of every age or if you think those parts are only used once someone gets to a certain age. The paper is due tomorrow.
Read Part 2 of Chapter 6 and be prepared to discuss in class.
Tuesday: What does the Central Nervous System do for the body?
In the groups that I have placed you in, I would like you to create a scavenger hunt using the senses and abilities that your Central Nervous System allows you to have. You need to have a minimum of 4 items to find and no more than 8. Please make sure that you're keeping in mind what the CNS enables you to do. You don't want to add a step in that makes you have to use your Peripheral Nervous System. We will be exchanging scavenger hunts with other teams and they will be completing them.
Read Part 1 of Chapter 7 and construct a powerpoint presentation with pictures of the parts that makes up the Peripheral Nervous System. Label each one and tell me what you think each item is responsible for doing. Maximum 5 slides. We will be sharing them in class.
Wednesday: What is a part of the Peripheral Nervous System?
Everyone will take the time to present and share their slide show. Each student will grade each and every powerpoint that is shown based upon a 10 point scale.

After each person presents their slideshow, we will all be taking this quiz. After you're done with the quiz, I will be coming around to write down your scores.

Thursday: What does the Peripheral Nervous System do?
Today, we will be watching several short movies on what the Peripheral Nervous System does for the body. After each movie, I would like for you to write a half page summary on what you think the movie showed.
Using your summaries that you wrote in class, you will construct a tri-fold board presentation with all of the information that you learned. The boards will be due on Monday and they will be worth 100 points.
Friday: What would our body do without your Nervous System?
In class, we will be put into random groups. After doing researching on your Nervous System, you will complete a movie. The movie will tell us everything we need to know about the Nervous System. Also, you must include a video clip of every person in your group speaking about what they have learned during the week and what they think there body would do without the Nervous System.
I will list some websites below that will help you along with your research, but please feel free to use other certified sources to do more outside research.
